IF Labs (Funimation / Irwin) Action Figures
In 2001 I started a toy company inside of FUNimation Productions called IF LABS, the IF was a statement of wonder, it also stood for Funimation / Irwin toys. We had already licensed rights to Irwin for DBZ action figures, which they were mostly at that time reusing the Bandai molds. Business was great, but we wanted to also create a fan specific line, that would be more in line with the great figures coming out from McFarlane toys.

At Funimation, after IF Labs, and in-between my years working with independent retail, comic shops, comic distributors, and specialty retail partners to get our home video products on their shelves,
I spent time working as an ADR Director, handling pickups on several properties and directing full episodes on others. I directed roughly 10 episodes of Galaxy Railways, about 10 episodes of Baki the Grappler, around 20 episodes of Case Closed, the two Case Closed movies, and Dragon Ball Z: Movie 2 – The World’s Strongest.
I’m very proud to have been part of those projects. It was a great period, with incredible writers, voice talent, and a production department that worked hard to create something really special.
